Hello D&I Council members,

I am requesting names of those available, in the next coming weeks, to set aside time to meet with a member of public affairs to answer a few questions either about themselves, the Lab, or their role on the council as it relates to Diversity & Inclusion. This brief interview would be featured on the Labs Diversity website.

If so, I'd like you to send me an email volunteering and I will follow up with an email invite specifying a brief time, date, and place. Below I have listed a few proposed questions of which Public Affairs may pull from. Please feel free to add questions below and provide feedback.

Proposed questions: (Most of the answers can be found in the Council Charter on the D7I site)

--What is the JLab Diversity and Inclusion Council?

--What does the D&I Council do? Or what is its purpose, or the desired
outcome of having this program at the lab?

--Why is it beneficial to have this type of council at JLab? Or, how
does having such a council make the lab better?
--Who does it report to?

--Who is on the council and how are representatives chosen? For how long
do they serve on the council?

--Can the council be approached by any member of the lab community?
(full, part time and term staff members; students; users;
subcontractors... anyone else?)

--What types of issues, questions or concerns may be brought before the
D&I Council?

--Are there any resources the council is providing as it rolls out/ramps
up its program at JLab?

--I'd heard something about implicit bias briefings/implicit bias awareness?

--The council's logo/motto is a hit on this year's JLab T-shirt. How did
the council come to create it?

--

Kind Regards
