I would be very grateful for comments, in particular from the eg1-dvcs
group on whether they are comfortable with the "preliminary results" plots
which I have put in. I am happy to take them out if they seem too
preliminary...

I am running a tad late with this, so I would really like to submit the
final version within a couple of days if possible.
