Dear all,

First I would like to thank you for having elected me chair of
the working group. I apologize for not contacting you before but
the transition/organization takes some time. I have several
announcements:

1) There are currently two mailing lists for the working group:
deeppwg and clas12_deepana. As I don't think we need two of them,
I kindly ask you to subscribe to deeppwg at your earliest
convenience with the following link, as it is the only mailing
list I will use.
https://mailman.jlab.org/mailman/listinfo/deeppwg

2) If you are currently working on a CLAS or CLAS12 analysis, I
kindly ask you to send me the following information at the latest
on Wednesday 14th September 2022: Your name, status
(PhD/postdoc/staff), physics channel and dataset. If you are a PhD
student, please indicate me the expected date/year of defense.
This list will be multi-purposes as it will indicate the channels
available and the ones currently being analyzed, help me to
organize the meetings,...

There is already a list of thesis work in progress:
https://www.jlab.org/Hall-B/general/clas_thesis.html. If you are
not listed, please also enter your name in this list.

3) Analysis reviews are considered service work. If you need to
do some service work, but cannot go to the lab to be target
expert/RC or contribute to the software, please contact me and I
will consider you in priority for an analysis review.

4) Finally, DNP Fall 2022 is happening soon. If any new result is
intended to be shown at DNP, it must be approved by the working
group. I have already contacted the people having submitted an
abstract and asked them to submit a release note in case of
new/updated results within two weeks, for September 26th. The
first two weeks of October will be dedicated to dry runs.

I will contact you soon with a program for the next DPWG meeting.
If you want to give a status report on your analysis, present a
software tool you are developing, or have an idea about a
dedicated subject for a meeting, do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Kind regards,

Maxime DEFURNE
