As mentioned in my earlier letter, we are requesting quarterly progress 
reports on the EIC detector R&D projects.  I have attached a template 
for these reports.  As you can see, it is simple and straightforward; I 
hope that each team will use it to best advantage to keep us informed of 
progress and issues as these projects proceed.  The reports will be due 
within two weeks after the close of each fiscal year quarter.  I would 
like to start with the quarter that ends June 30 (report due in 
mid-July).  I realize this will be a short quarter, without time for 
much real progress, but it does provide an opportunity to respond to 
questions and comments in last month's Committee report.

The Committee will meet again this fall, probably in November.  The 
website https://wiki.bnl.gov/conferences/index.php/EIC_R%25D has been 
updated with a call for new or updated proposals, due Oct. 15, 2011, to 
be presented at that meeting.
