[DIRC] neutron background in STAR and estimate for an EIC detector

Hi,
This is an estimate for the neutron count per cm2 integrated over 100 days in STAR and BeAST (Elke’s detector) for e-p collisions at the highest energies. At one meter radius, the fluxes are only in the thousands per second and cm2. For eA the rates would be higher, but there seems to be a very large margin.
