It has been a while since our last meeting, and in the meantime there<br>
have been some positive developments. Perhaps it would be a good idea to<br>
meet this or perhaps next week and discuss the next steps? To summarize,<br>

1. MOU between JLab and GSI is ready<br>
2. The awarded funding is about to be paid out<br>
- MPO ready for JLab<br>
3. Interviews are about to start for ODU postdoc<br>
4. New collaborators have joined us for the proposal extension (FY12 and<br>
beyond).<br>

Regarding the last point, you may recall that the advisory committee<br>
suggested that any extension of the SiPM testing proposal should be done<br>
in a common framework with the DIRC one. Thus, while the first year of<br>
the former focused on radiation damage, we were thinking to extend this<br>
to include tests in high magnetic fields. Since the latter seemed to be<br>
a challenge, we have put forward a plan to create a dedicated sensor<br>
testing facility here at JLab, using the former CLAS DVCS magnet (which<br>
will not used anymore for its original purpose). This is a solenoid with<br>
a bore of about 20 cm capable of reaching fields of up to 4.7 T. Such<br>
tests would be a complementary to any magnetic field testing done at<br>
other facilities during year 1. Once established, the facility could, of<br>
course, also serve other needs, for instance to test sensors for PANDA<br>
or other projects. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEADLINE FOR THE FY12 (YEAR 2)<br>
PROPOSALS IS OCTOBER 15, 2011.<br>

Regarding the meeting time and location, we still have a reservation for<br>
room F228 (for the locals) on Wednesday between 10 and 11 am EST. Does<br>
this still work for everyone?<br>
