[dsg-eic_dirc] DIRC Update

Hi Patrizia,

The DIRC laser lab construction is progressing. Currently, the space located in EEL 108 has three of four walls erected. The final wall will be completed after the 10' x ~5' optical table is installed. A purchase requisition for the optical table is in procurement. I have confirmed with Walt that climate control will be installed in one of the wall panels.


  *   DSG has inspected the laser test station equipment components and is in the process of developing a design proposal for an interlock system for a Class 3R Laser
  *
  *   DSG has started reviewing the laser safety information to assist with the development of the LSOP and any other safety documents
  *
  *   DSG will periodically provide updates to the DSG-EIC_DIRC mailing list to inform the Physics and DSG management, as well as the EIC/DIRC group
  *

     *   2 linear stages with built-in controls
     *   2 rotary stages (stepper motor controllers needed)
  *   Proposal for engineered controls interlock system under development (door access, emergency stop, status indicators)
