Hello,

As discussed in the last DSG - EIC DIRC meeting on April 10 (link to minutes<https://www.jlab.org/sites/default/files/dsg/minutes/eic-dirc/2023-04-10%20DSG%20-%20EIC%20DIRC.pdf>), the AC unit in EEL 108 will not have an external pump for removing water from the unit. According to Walt, the unit has an internal condensation catch tank and evaporator to handle the condensation removal, so a separate drain is not needed. As a precaution, the unit will be placed in a drain pan just in case the tank overflows.

As for the through holes in the walls of the EEL 108 sub-room, the location and size of the holes need to be marked.

We already know that we will put one 6"-diameter hole for the air exhaust, a second 6"-diameter hole in case we will need to vent the laser exhaust out of the room, and one ~2" diameter hole in the wall for passing instrumentation cabling in and out of the subroom. Any through holes that will not be immediately used will be covered.

The locations for these three holes are already marked with masking tape Xs, the size of the holes are not (this will be done soon).

Are there any other through holes needed in the EEL 108 subroom? If so, let me know and the location and size will be marked.

If there are no other holes needed, I will submit the Facilities Management request to get the through-holes drilled.

If I do not hear anything by noon on Monday April 24, I will assume no other holes are needed beyond the three mentioned above and submit the work request.
