[dsg-eic_dirc] Help with inspection and marking of the wooden crates on Thursday August 31st

Hi George,

We will finalize a procedure in Monday's in-person EIC DIRC meeting.

The general plan is:
Zak will operate the forklift to move crates around so they are all accessible on ground level.
We will mark each crate so we know what lid goes on what crate and the lid's orientation
We will open the crates (the crate lids are held on by what look like lag bolts)
Then, we will take measurements and some photos inside the crate to make sure they're ready for the bars.
Finally, I'm guessing Zak will re-stack the crates so the area is somewhat organized.

OK, is there an inspection procedure? What all is involved in this process?

George

Hi Greg,
DSG will be able to provide support for inspecting the crates.
Did you have a marking method already? Or should we try to find something, maybe a large, brightly colored marker?

Mindy and George,
Would you all be available Thursday August 31 at 8:00AM to help with the crate inspection?
>From Greg's email, Zak Remele will be running the forklift, so what we would be doing is marking the crates, then opening them to take some measurements.

Hi Tyler,

Next Thursday, August 31st at 8 am Zak Remele will help us access the wooden crates to inspect them. Would you be able to help?

Matt Shepherd will join us, he built the original crates in 2017 with his technician.

  * we will need to mark the crates, maybe simply number them.
  * we will need to clearly mark which top corresponds to which crate and front/back orientation.
  * we will need measuring tapes, longer and shorter to measure inside if all is ok.
  * I'm assuming the tops are fixed with screws so maybe few charged power tools would help to make it efficient and quick.

Cheers,

Greg
