what mindy's e-mail means is that hall a techs would, in 3 weeks, move the 10 cages to make them accessible.

the rest of the tasks have to be done by mindy and  assistants.


  1.  do you have some people to help mindy.
  2.  do you have a tentative date for the installation in the test-lab. it would help me assess the manpower we need and recruit some if needed.

Hello Amrit,


The project currently includes 1152 2-m long cables and 304 100-m long cables. The short cables need to be re-labeled and tested. About 440 of them are already prepared by Mindy.

The big part of work is sorting of these 2-m cables in ESB because we can not "deliver them to Mindy". They are somewhere in ten cages. The long cables are available in ESB

from the GEP-3 holding rack and just need to be moved to Test Lab (require two people due to weight of the 8-cable bundle).

After that the cables need to installed in DAQ in Test Lab.

This work is for Hadron calorimeter of SBS. As a summery:

  1.  Sorting of ~700 2-m cables
  2.  Relable 700 cables
  3.  Moving 304 100-m cables
  4.  Installation of all 1152+304 cables in Test Lab.

could you come up with a schedule as to when the cables ( please give the quantity of cables) will be delivered to mindy and when you'd like to have them.

it will help me immensely in scheduling mindy's work on other projects.

To date, 422 of 1152 LEMO to BNC cables are ready for installation and I have ~100 to complete.  As per our conversation yesterday, the remaining cables in the ESB  will be accessible in about three weeks, when your technicians will be available.  Let me know when the cables are ready and I will continue.
