Hi Folks,
I met with Rick Adrover and Adrienne Manley at the ECal prototype to go over the heater system and associated supply and control electronics. We made it as close to the full system as possible and with the ability to scale so there should only be a few minor tweaks between this and the main system. They verbally approved the system with the single exception that they would like a crash button installed. They did not specify whether this button would be upstairs in the counting house or down in the hall. Brian, I am not sure of the exact details of the implementation of the emergency off relays, but I could imagine this to be as simple as a switch in the voltage output line from the Omega process controller. If it's that simple we could put a crash button on the power supply unit in the hall and also one upstairs, but I will leave those details to you. The full electronics system must now be documented and formally approved in order for us to start stacking the detector supermodules in the frame. If possible, I would like to start that next week, so I am going to get the electronics diagrams going as soon as possible. Once you have a more or less complete controls system design, if you could send a diagram my way that would be great.
