Hi Don,

No need, they can be tested on the test stand.

I’ll drop off two to the test stand later today.

Subject: [Dsg-halla_ecal] Fw: power supply approval

Hi,
I thought I would forward this email to you all. Rick Adrover says the power supplies are good. They are UL-recognized. Marc, I have received 4 more. Do you want to check them before we install them?

Don,

This component is good to use.

It is not UL listed, it is UL recognized. (That is the symbol with the backwards R). UL makes a distinction between listed and recognized. A 'recognized' component is used as a constituent part in building a larger piece of equipment. A 'listed' piece of equipment is certified for a purpose or use as an entire unit.

I verified that the component is recognized on UL's site, just to make sure there are not problems.

Rick

Hi Rick,
The way my thinking and our testing is developing, it is looking likely that the backbone of our heating system for the ECal detector will be 12.5 amp 0-48VDC dimmable LED drivers made by Meanwell HLG-600H-48B. Here is a picture of one of the units.

Can you take a look to make sure these are approved by one of the appropriate Labs like UL? I see safety standards are listed on page2 of the documentation and UL is listed for some, but I don't know which UL standards are critical. Documentation is available here: https://www.trcelectronics.com/ecomm/pdf/hlg600h.pdf
We would be using around 45 to 50 of these.
