Hi Don,
You can cool down the system, just set the temperature below 20C and it should be fine.
I will set a meeting to discuss changes we need to make to the prototype system before the spring.
*
Installing an expansion chassis in place of the cRIO
* Replacing the cRIO with the new ECAL cRIO, installing it in the counting house
* developing a prototype disconnect chassis
We also need to talk about the full system supermodule temperature readback channel count. Essentially, how many readback channels and the locations.
Marc

Subject: heating system
Hi Marc,
The heater prototype worked remarkably well. Now that the ALL experiment has been cancelled and we will not be gettin more beam, I am hearing that to satisfy the ERR committee we will need to keep the prototype intact until the Spring run to demonstrate operation during beam with sufficient dose that the control crystals show darkening while the heated ones remain clear. For now, though, is there any reason from your standpoint not to cool it off? I have one more thing to look at first, but just wanted to check with you.
