Subject: [Dsg-halla_ecal] ECAL heater controls status
Hi Bogdan and Don,
The heater controls are working in the hall. I will conduct a low temperature test of all the channels to ensure functionality.
I will also work on getting controls and monitoring access to Hall A staff so you can set the temperatures and conduct your test.
On the next hall opening I can work on instrumenting temperature monitoring for the crystal surfaces, 16 channels of thermocouple readout will be available. Currently, we monitor the heated surfaces (supermodule front flanges, and aluminum sides), as well as the crystal faces of all 6 supermodules.
We will also install a hardware watchdog relay, as an additional safety feature which will independently monitor a signal from the controls software and open the safety relays when the monitored signal is not present. This function will be non-latching.
That said, the cRIO software ran from 14:44 on 2023-09-12 until I did an update this morning. So, I think the software freeze issues are resolved.
Regards,
Marc
