SBS uses or used one of these boards.  (Maybe that is the board you have?). Holly had a program from INFN to control the board.  Maybe that is what you are using.  I also wrote a EPICS driver for the board.  Not sure if it is still in use.

Looking at the product page, it is not clear how to get GECO to talk to this board.  Perhaps run GECO on the CPU board (presumably running linux) for the crate.

The product page does say "These modules are provided with a USB VCP interface and can be programmed via PC by connecting the PC USB port with the N14xx USB B-type port; the featured controller (FT232BM chip) requires a driver available on this page or at www.ftdichip.com<http://www.ftdichip.com>”. This makes it sound like a N14xx board could act as an interface to the V6521.  But I see no information on how to connect a V6521 and N14.   The manual for the V6521 makes no mention of any interfaces other than VME.

Perhaps contact CAEN support and ask them what you need to do/get to control the board from GECO.

What is the weird behavior you see?

Hi Marc,

I am trying to debug a weird behavior I am seeing in a CAEN V6521N HV module that we use for some GEMs. I am not entirely convinced either way that the problem can be pinned down to a software issue or a hardware issue. I have no good reason to believe it is a hardware failure. Similarly, the software has given me little issue up until now, but it is an in-house script that was made in probably 2012-2014.

Ideally, I am looking for a CAEN VME Interface so that way I can connect the HV module I have to the interface and then use the more modern GECO software. Hopefully this can either confirm/deny the software end of my current predicament. I have some ideas as to what could be going on hardware wise, I just have yet to check them.

Do you by chance have a CAEN VME interface I could borrow or know where I could find one?
