Looks like Seimens doesn't have an SOE module either, but it seems like we might be able to use some of the time stamping available on the modules to do it ourselves in code. I haven't looked into that possibility with the Automation Direct ones.
There will be much less time resolution, high-single/low-double digit ms (depending on which documentation/comments you read, the latter seems more likely) if we do it manually vs the low-triple digit us that the A-B SOE has. So several orders of magnitude slower.
So far dealing with Siemens has been a black box, they're WAY less responsive than the other companies.
I think the other big issue is the alternative to the isolated analog input module, for whatever reason most of the PLCs seem to prefer common inputs.
Any inputs/thoughts on the Modicon PLC stuff (I think they're currently owned by Schneider Electric)? Only bring it up since they actually have an isolated analog input module, albeit only 8 channels.

Hi Brian,
The soe time stamping is not that critical for these coils.
The fast dc inputs would be more than enough; is there such a compromise available?
Thanks

Here's the information Aaron got from Automation Direct.
While some of the modules they don't have an equivalent for could probably be replaced with something else not having an SOE module pretty much eliminates this as an alternative to the current A-B setup. Which is unfortunate since their pricing and lead-times are so much better than A-B. Most of the stuff out of stock is only a 4 week lead-time versus the months for A-B.
We're still trying to see what a Seimens setup would look like, but it's been much harder to get information.

Hi Jeff,
Would you be able to send a list of comparable/equivalent P3000 controller/modules/software/etc as well as the cost for each item based on the list I sent?
Thanks,
Aaron

We do not sell any Allen-Bradley PLCs, and none of our PLCs can be programmed using the Allen-Bradley software. So you would have to re-write your logic from scratch. Also, none of our PLCs support redundant power supplies, HART, Sequence of Event inputs, or scheduled outputs.
Having said that, our Productivity P3000 series PLC would be the closest we have. Here is a link to the P3000 series PLC parts.
