[Dsg-halla_magnets] Fw: SoLID Magnet wiring work

Hello Walt,

For the space allocations, the approximate footprint required for the two racks is of at least 9' X 6'.
We would like to have the racks moved to the high bay area by 8/31/2021.

Regards,
Pablo

Also, moving the racks into the Test Lab high bay area needs to be run by Walt Akers for space allocation.

How much of foot print is required?

Steven

Great News.

Hall C techs were slated to start work on the wiring but would have to wait until the hall closes up early Sept.

  1. Wiring should be completed by third week of Sept. This gives 4 weeks to do the wiring and then hot check out can be carried out while the magnet is being moved and the CCR and current service turret assembled to the magnet.
  2. The racks are located in tedf room 1544. This is a private room with floor to ceiling walls and can accommodate two people at one time, if not more. The room is long. Face mask is all that is require as there is no need for people being closer than 6 feet for this work. One could wear gloves is so desired.
  3. The room is locked as the room contains spare parts for HallC. If it needs to be moved, the Hall C techs will have to do it and that could be delayed until the hall closes.
  4. Two to three people can work on the rack in its present location. Two people working on a rack at the time is about as much as one would want to have. the third person can be in the room cutting, stripping and attached ferrules to the ends of the cables prior to installing into the racks.

thanks again
Steven

Hello Steven,

Dr. Rossi approved that DSG works on the wiring of the SoLID magnet instrumentation in the racks.

DSG needs to schedule the wiring work so that our support for other projects is not affected. Also, we'll need to follow all recommended MEDCON 4 protocols and keep social distancing to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Can you provide the answer to the questions below?

  1. When does the racks’ wiring need to be completed?
  2. Where are the racks located?
  3. Is the access to the racks restricted?
  4. How many people will be around the rack in its present location?

DSG suggests moving the racks to the Test Lab high bay area so that people are able to be socially distant.

DSG would like cable spools to be moved by Hall A from the physics storage next to racks prior to the start of work.

Regards,

Pablo
