Hi Pablo,

I have a few questions from your email about the list of signals.

  1. What are the things that you expect from the Cryogenics group in regards to this?
  2. How are you porting these signals into EPICS?
  3. Will you create EPICS EDM screens based upon the attached pictures?
  4. What write access are you providing us through EPICS to modify valves?

Please let me know and we can start planning the things that needs to be taken care of.

Thanks,

Ash

Hello Ash,

Please find attached the spreadsheet containing the list of signals to be monitored on EPICS and also the PVs needed to be read in the PLC.

Thanks,

Pablo

Hi Pablo,

That sounds good to me. I will wait for your after meeting update on the defined list of signals.

And we use the EthernetIP Drive to create softiocs for interfacing the EPICS with the PLC tags. I haven’t worked on KEPSERVER. We can talk more about it.

Thanks,

Ash

Hello Ash,

For the CLEO magnet testing stage in the Test Lab, the following EPICS PVs need for the cryogenics need to be read by the PLC controller, I also highlighted this signals in the attached HMI screenshots.

Current Name/PLC Tag Description

{[CLEO_PLC]He_Gas_Flow_Sup} > Helium gas flow supply

{[CLEO_PLC]He_Gas_Press_Sup} > Helium gas pressure supply

{[CLEO_PLC]LHe_Cold_Press_Sup} > Liquid helium (4.5K) pressure supply

{[CLEO_PLC]LHe_Cold_Flow_Sup} > Liquid helium (4.5K) flow supply

{[CLEO_PLC]He_Warm_Flow_Ret} > Warm helium flow return

{[CLEO_PLC]He_Warm_Press_Ret} > Warm helium pressure return

{[CLEO_PLC]EPICS_4K_flow_limit} > Helium (4.5K) flow supply limit

The current names/PLC tags can be change to match the actual EPICS PVs.

I'll have a meeting with Steven this upcoming Wednesday and we will defined the signals that will be monitored in EPICS, I'll send you the list once it is defined.

Will you be working in interfacing the EPICS PVs with the PLC tags using the KEPSERVER?

Thanks,

Pablo

Hi Pablo,

Can you please tell me about the signals that you are interested in monitoring and need EPICS access to?

We can provide you with whatever signals we have available currently to assist with your CLEO magnet testing.

Thanks,

Ash
