All,

I set the rotameters in the Hall for each R3 chamber to 8 lpm and now the MFC shows it is flowing 35 lpm.

So, I don't think there is a problem, the rotameters were restricting the flow, and the MFC is probably more accurate than the rotameters.

Thanks

Bob

The R3 supply MFC started acting funny a bit before 6/14 and couldn't even maintain 12 slm prior to resumption of normal flow numbers, see attached plots.

Also, I'm not sure if that Mix #1 tank pressure reading is to believed? Did a RV blow or was that just from switching valves around?

I would disconnect the tubing directly after the R3 MFC so it's venting to the atmosphere and see if it can flow properly, that would at least let us know if the problem was downstream of the MFC or the MFC itself.

BTW, I changed the setpoint on R3 to 20 so the Mix #1 Ar and CO2 wouldn't keep overfilling the tank as it was already at 100 psi.

The MFCs needed to be reinitialized after pulling the power on the MFC (that's all the big connector is used for). So now the cRIO is communicating with the MFC again.

It still only has ~20 slm flowing through it though when set to 36. However, when I changed the setpoint to 6 it flowed that just fine. So I don't think it is the MFC itself.

Is there a valve somewhere that didn't get opened up all the way? Is the supply pressure to the MFC high enough?

Brian and Marc,

We've lost control of the R3 supply MFC. As noted below, it was showing 22 lpm yesterday. This morning, Bob noted that it was full open, 95%, but still only flowing 22 lpm. When he increased the supply pressure, the flow increased to 40 lpm but the MFC didn't change. I had him pull the big connector, which closed the MFC, but it still isn't responding. He said the green LED is solid instead of blinking like the others. Will on of y'all look into it? Bob's onsite until about 10 am if you need him to do anything.

Thanks,
Morgan

Hi Brian,

So Bob's brought Mix 1 and Mix 2 back online and zero'd the mixing MFCs. However the R3 setpoint isn't correct. He set it to 36 lpm, but it's only showing 22 lpm in epics. It looks like the ratios of both Mix1 and Mix 2 are right, but could you take a look at it when you get a minute?

Thanks,
Morgan

No worries, I did the exact same thing.

As soon as you change any of the parameters that are currently set now it should take it out of the MEDCON6 mode and flow normally.

  *   Manual Mode
  * Both Mixes set to pressure control
  *   Mix #1 AR + CO2 + Mix #2 CO2 set to zero

All of those must be met to have it flow like it is now.

Brian,

Cancel this request. I misread our proposed July start date as June. With that timeline, we'll just bring both mix 1 and mix 2 systems back online and let them work their magic. Sorry for my confusion.

Thanks.
Morgan

Brian,

Yes, I want to use the Mix#2 mixing system to supply Ar/CO2 to all regions. Friday would be good since we're supposed to get a get a gas delivery then.

Thanks,
Morgan

Morgan,

If I'm understanding what you want basically you'd like the current setup (all regions supplied from Mix #2), but to add in Mix #2 CO2 as one of the things that goes up and down based on tank pressure in addition to Mix #2 Ar?

If so, yes that can be done. Is there a time frame when that should go live?

Hi Brian,

I'd like to use this interim to re-establish the gas mix in the 2000 L tank we've been using and then start purging the DCs, before bringing the rest of the system online. Can the current script be changed to allow us to add CO2 back into mix2 for whenever we get a CO2 delivery?
