Hello,

Yesterday, George and I discussed the status of the DC gas system. Even if the design authority, Dave Kashy, approves the system tomorrow (12/16/16) and we order the equipment (gas, valves, etc.) right away and the equipment arrives mid-January, 2015, it is crystal clear that we will be unable to put the system together for the KPP, a week before Feb. 3, 2017. At best, if everything goes well can expect the system to be ready by 3/1/17. Details will be provided by George, who has developed a comprehensive day by day work schedule. In addition to the DC gas system, there is much work to be done on the SVT.

The alternative is to use the wire chamber test stand gas system for the KPP. This approach will work, provided we have the gases in place by mid-January 2017. Again, details will be provided by George.

George and I have identified two people: Denny Insley and Morgan Cooke for primary and immediate training on the gas system - as we start turning the system on. Other staff members of the Hall B Engineering group, who are expected to be on call, could be trained by them.

Amrit

From: "burkert" <burkert@jlab.org>
To: "Amrit Yegneswaran" <yeg@jlab.org>, "dsg-dc" <dsg-dc@jlab.org>, "David Kashy" <kashy@jlab.org>, "Mac Mestayer" <mestayer@jlab.org>, "Glenn Young" <gyoung@jlab.org>, "dsg-internal" <dsg-internal@jlab.org>
Cc: "Patrizia Rossi" <rossi@jlab.org>
Sent: Wednesday, December 14, 2016 11:07:45 AM
Subject: Re: DCGAS line installation in Hall B (Critical Path Items)

Amrit, the KPP run officially starts on February 3.
