Hello,

DSG supports all phases of detector work from the component level to the detector itself by contributing to:

    1. research, development, and fabrication ( e.g. Hall B Gas System, SVT … ),
    2. instrumentation ( e.g. HDice, … ),
    3. software development and implementation ( e.g. LabVIEW and/or PLC programs for HPS, Torus, Solenoid, … ),
    4. maintenance ( e.g. gas systems for detector testing: HTCC, MVT, FT, DC, … ),
    5. repair ( e.g. CTOF pre-amplifier boards, … ),
    6. and testing ( e.g. LTCC winston cones, RICH mirrors, FT electronics, … ).

Work performed by DSG at the component level, is and will continue to be documented and archived . However, once a component, hardware or software, has been implemented in a larger instrument/detector, DSG will not track changes made to the components or the detector , including the Hall B gas system.

Documenting and archiving changes to the instrument/detector is the responsibility of the detector owners, even if that work is done by DSG ; such changes will be done only at the detector owner’s written request posted to the appropriate DSG mailing list.

Generation of the THA, OSP and all associated safety documentations for reviews and/or operations is the responsibility of the detector owners. DSG will guide, as it has been doing, detector managers with their effort.

Finally, DSG is not the keeper of spares for any detectors.
