Hi Bob,

There were 2 attached diagrams. The FT-P&I-Hall-04-04-2017 shows
a cylinder of pre-mix and a cyl of argon. There is no mixing system
on that diagram. There is always a cylinder of argon for purging the
air out prior to flowing flammable gas or to purge out the flammable
gas prior to opening the system to atmosphere.

The MVT-MIXING-06-076-2017l.pdf shows the mixing system for the Oct
run.

George,

Your FT Hall P&I diagram on the M drive from April 2017
shows a mixing system, and the MVT diagram from June 2017 shows
the FT with a mixing system. Is there another drawing showing
premix as you state below?

It sounds like many of you are not on the mailing list for these

There were several meetings about this subject in earlier this
year. The decision to use pre-mix gas in cylinders for the EEL
testing of the MVT and the FT testing in the Hall were made at
those meetings. The FT testing in the hall is contingent on it's
installation critical path. I believe it is unrealistic to
believe the FT will be installed on the TORUS and ready for gas
in 14 days. When it's ready, is a question for Hall B, Bob
Miller and Doug Tilles.

There are 3 pressure systems associated with the MVT and FT
1) MVT EEL gas supply using pre-mix gas cylinders
2) FT Hall gas supply using pre-mix gas cylinders
3) MVT "Lite" gas mixing system

The current status of the 3 pressure systems;
1) The EEL gas supply is complete and testing of the MVT
is in progress. The pressure system requirements required ~6
weeks to complete.
2) The FT testing in the hall on the TORUS status;
Please find attached diagram and components list for testing
the MVT and FT in the EEL this spring/summer.
The plan is to use pre-mixed 10% C4H10 in Argon from cylinders
containing 850 liters of gas.
Question: How much gas will be required for these tests? How
many cylinders should I order?
The is a 4-6 week lead time on this gas, so I need to order it
ASAP.
Thank you,
