In order for the flow transducer to perform it's purpose, it must be
downstream of the rotameter. Just move the transducer to the
rotameter location. It has a pretty long cable.
Hi George,
we have re-discussed the positioning of the different components
of the FTCal gas system with Bob and Morgan, who is helping us
with the installation. Their suggestion was to possibly keep
everything on the subway, pacing the rotometer close to the other
ones already installed and the bubbler in the bubbler tray with
the other ones. Could we move the flowmeter upstairs as well: I
thought that was not going to be possible but we check the cable
from the cRio to the device and that looks long enough.
If you are available we could meet to discuss it: we will be in
the Hall most of the day tomorrow working on cabling.
Best regards,
Hi George,
thanks for pointing out that the rotometer has to be upstream. I
guess this was not considered when the new configuration was
discussed and the idea of moving rotometer and bubbler on the
subway was just for convenience. However we can go back to the
original idea of having everything close to the compact rio. We
will revisit the plan and get back to you on Monday.
Hi George,
plans about the panel have changed a bit: it was decided to
install rotometer and bubbler close to the detector on the
subway, leaving the flowmeter close the compact rio since I
believe it gets power from the compact rio.
Thanks,
I can hook it up and make a temporary mount of some sort.
I thought the FT group was working on a N2 panel?
Could you connect and mount the FT flow meter today?

Subject: Nitrogen pipes
Hi Amanda,
We have installed the nitrogen lines for the ftcal purge. The still have to be connected to the main line in the hall but they are ready to be connected to the flow meter. Will you take care of that?
Also, the flow meter is now sitting on the floor but it would be nice to have a small panel to attach it to the rack . Would that be possible?
Thanks ,
Raffaella
