The cable was supposed to have pins in 79 and 80 pin-outs so when it was hooked up to the HV card, the interlocks would work. The cable did not have these pins and the interlocks did not work.

2. was some thing wrong with the front panel jumper or with the jumper on board?

Nothing on the board was wrong. The cable did not have pins in the 79 and 80 pin-out positions to enable interlocks. The interlocks will not work without those pins.

4. was the jumper on the front panel and board removed?

The jumper on the front panel was removed because it cannot be there if the cable is to be connected. The front panel jumper was put inside the cable connector to serve as pins 79 and 80. Nothing in the board was touched.

5. if so by whom?

Tyler and I put the pins that Mindy made in the cable.

6. Why wasn't it necessary for this "The calorimeter HV cables have been modified to include pins in the 79 and 80 pin-outs" to be done in the tests conducted in the eel?

We chose not to test the interlocks with their cable attached so as not to damage the detector in case the HV was still connected on the detector side. The jumper to pins 79 and 80 were meant to replace the cable temporarily.

7. who modified the the HV cables?

Tyler and I modified the HV cable, with Mindy's jumper.

8. how many cables were modified?

There are three calorimeter HV cables.
