George,

The stored energy of the system is ~4,430 ft-lb, which is well above the 1,000 ft-lb limit so it needs to be designed and built per ES&H 6151.

I know some of this has already been installed. Please verify that MV1 from your P&ID is locked shut so the system cannot be energized until we're ready for leak testing/commissioning. You can continue to build the rest of the system per our discussion using the appropriate fittings and materials.

I will size an orifice for upstream of PR03 and also size RV01 for you. Its a simple system, so I should be done the documentation quickly.

Matt

Subject: CO2 gas supply pressure system analysis

The DA has begun analyzing the HTCC CO2 gas supply system.

First thing on the list - We need to eliminate the home made 90 degree fitting just upstream of the mass flow controller, or replace it with a Swagelock part. This can be accomplished in less than 10 minutes, so it should not present any issues, but this need to happen ASAP. I will gather the needed items together today. Perhaps we can do this tomorrow?
