Hi Youri,
Yes, the cables must be temporarily disconnected before the move. But the cables have service loops, at the detector. The service loops have enough length to reach the floor. The hall b techs just performed this same maneuver in August. Denny is aware of the disconnect location and where and how to route the cables.
I can meet with you and Denny or Morgan next week to show how the cable runs. But, like I said, this was done this past August. DSG will of course check the HallB gas controls and monitoring to make sure everything is working after each move.
Marc

Dear Marc,
No, it is impossible to move the detector down to the ground floor without disconnecting it completely.
If you do not agree with that than let us meet tomorrow in the hall at any time.
Thank you.
Youri

Hi Yuri,
The last time the detector was moved to the floor the hall b techs just moved the cables with the detector which keeps the gas system running as normal. The service loops for the cables are designed to run to the floor.
Once it is moved, they can update the DSG via this mailing list and we will verify that the system monitoring is running correctly.
Regards,
Marc

Dear Brian and Marc,
Sometime next week the HTCC will be taken off the beam line and put on the ground floor to allow installation of the FT.
As Denny told me the HTCC will be put back in working location in the beginning of January. As of now I do not know date of moving the HTCC but Denny has promised to let me know once he decides when exactly the detector will be moved. I'll informe you abou that in advance next week.
Please, your help is needed to unplug HTCC controls properly and then restore/provide same service.
Thank you.
Youri
