Hi Brian and Marc,

Thanks for getting the system working.

I will check the GUI in the morning. If it is working, I will start filling S5 with C4F10.

Regards,
Bob

Subject: Gas System Status

Hi Bob,

Marc and I have finished with the gas system for today, everything is working as it should.

- Scales are fixed, this was due to the COM port address changing when upgrading LabVIEW.
- We found some 120 VAC solenoids to replace the ones for S6, but there are no spares. Marc will order some more.
- We tested the config file saving changes and it all works as expected except in the cases where there is network issues. The easiest one that shows up is if the FC restarts but without any networking the GUI will show the default set points for the various controls as it cannot communicate with the needed variables to get their correct values (config = latest values, GUI = old defaults). I suspect this is a non-issue as without networking the cRIO can't communicate with the MFCs, EPICS, etc so the system isn't in an operational state anyway.

Since I have no way of proving the negative of "the system won't freeze/crash anymore" the only thing we can do is wait and make sure it keeps running.

Outstanding issues that need to be addressed later:
- Need to replace the video cable for the screen in the gas shed, currently it comes back to a much smaller resolution unless commands are manually run to increase it to the native one.
- Once things are in a steady state we'll need to modify the code so the config file handling is all in one place. Right now it's done separately in each place that does it, i.e. MFCs, pressures, gas selection, etc.

If anything breaks before then and we notice we'll of course let you know, but if you haven't heard anything the easiest thing to check would be if the gas shed GUI is still responsive and that you can see the entire GUI (due to the issue above about the video cable).
