Hello Scot,
I assigned analog inputs module (1756-IF16) at slot 4, based in the DWG 0626 (09/09/2016) and I compared with the Solenoid PLC layout that is in the Master Instrumentation_List_v21_December13 2016 spreadsheet and they mach.
After compared the latest version of the Solenoid P&I Diagram with the current signals in this PLC layout and DWG 0626, I noted that the signal (PT8675B) doesn't appear in the P&I Diagram(Preliminary 12/09/16). Do we will have this signal? or maybe we have to correct the PLC layout sheet and update DWG 0626.
Regards
Pablo

Pablo,
Thanks for your clearing up that information for me. My calculations were based on a total of 20W per parallel circuit not 20 Watts per heater.
Would you please send me your programmed I/O channel assignments for Local PLC Slot 4. Do they coincide with the most current P & I for the solenoid?
I would like to verify the sensors location / I.D., Name, Description & wiring within the controls rack and update DWG. # D0...-0626.
Thanks for your assistance,

Hello Ruben,
I calculated the Max Voltage and Current required for the heater control which needs to be set in the PLC program based on the spreadsheet (See Attached) that I found in the M Drive.
These are the results that I got and and I programmed:
HTR8620
Power Required = 40 [W]
R each heater = 72 [ohms]
R total ( parallel ) = 36 [ohms]
I max = 1.05 [A]
V max = 37.94 [V]
HTR8672
Power Required = 60 [W]
R each heater = 80 [ohms]
R total ( parallel ) = 26.667 [ohms]
I max = 1.50 [A]
Vmax = 40 [V]
Let me know if there is any corrections to modified the PLC program.
Do we want to consider the measured resistance values which are in your calculations ?.
Regards
Pablo

Hi Scot,
I agree that the 60V, 10 A power supplies are more than adequate for the heaters we have.
However, my assessment of voltage and current requirements is a little different from yours as I believe each heater needs to provide a maximum of 20W - see attachment.
Regards
Ruben
