I asked Joe and Floyd the range of the sensors and the 8670DP is 25"H20 and the 8620 is 5" H20
which match well with my calcs :)

Hi Dave,
We have the DP code from cryo and they use pressure along with several constants to get the liquid helium density and vapor density which along with the height and DP signal give the liquid level. No temperature.
Thank you for the heights. One question, do you know what the ranges are on the DP heads? the dwg (-659) we looked at shows them as 0-250" H20, which looking at your spreadsheet seems too big.
The heaters will be implemented the same way as Torus. It would be very easy to add in the actual wattage for display.
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Pablo and Nic,
Do you guys have equations that included the circuit pressure and temperature for the DP sensors?
I believe that this is what the cryo guys do.
For the Magnet Reservoir the total height is 141" and for the Lead reservoir it is 23"
Thus giving a DP when the tanks are at 1.2 atm of 17.0" H20 and 2.78" H20
But if the Magnet reservoir is pumped to achieve 3.56K 0.5Atm then the pressure head is 19" H2O
As a check I have included a spread sheet for the sensors with level readings for different conditions.
For the Torus we used % of full power. The wattage for each heater is shown on the P&ID 40 W for the Lead reservoir and 60W for the Magnet Resevoir.
It would be nice to have the full power wattage displayed on the epic screen as text and % shown as the output of the PID loop
Some of the interlock values are defined in the CD/Op procedure and the PID spread sheet but there are some that need input from solenoid engineers.
Thanks
Dave

Hello Renuka, Nick.
The following is a list of items and question, that I need in order to complete the Solenoid PLC programs:
1. Calibration data for Temperature sensor that will be used in Cryocon Monitor temperatures.
2. Power on and establishing Ethernet connection for the three Cryocon units, I need to download the calibration data.
3. Mapping (layout) with the locations of temperature sensors in Solenoid Cryocon #3.
4. Solenoid Voltage Tap Calculation for the Comparators.
5. Define Process Variable (PV_Array) that will be share between DBX-Torus- Solenoid.
6. Confirm formula to be used to calculate the He_Liquid_Level tank in percent based on DP measurements for Lead Reservoir
7. Confirm formula to be used to calculate the He_Liquid_Level tank in percent based on DP measurements for Magnet Reservoir.
8. I need the model and specs of the Heaters HTR-8620 (Lead Heater Reservoir) and HT 8672 to confirm scale factor and read Voltage and Current and make the calculation for output signal.
9. Max Engineering units limit to be implemented for heater HTR 8620 and HT 8672. Will we use them as the Torus does?
10.The Solenoid vacuum system requires being implemented timer delays to avoid spoiled vacuum readings. How long is it in the Torus? I discussed with George and he recommended take the same as the Torus does.
11. Threshold Limits for Process variables that are part of the Magnet Interlocks need to be defined.
We discussed some of these points today during the PLC Programming Solenoid meeting, and I will met with Nick tomorrow morning to work on these.
Best Regards
Pablo Campero
