Hello Tyler,
Scot can help you explaining the ground wiring diagram and he can also give you spare cable.
Please talk to Scot about it.

Have you discussed this with Christiana? What is her suggestions about it.

Thanks
Renuka

Subject: [Dsg-hallb_magnets] Cryo-con update 2016-11-29

Renuka,

This morning, Mindy and I added a ground to the Cryo-con as Nick suggested by connecting a ground wire from the back plane of the Cryo-con to the rack. Using the test adapters we could not replicate the "clip" error.

After discussing what we did this morning with Peter Bonneau and Pablo, we determined that the grounding should be done on the shielding of the cable rather than the Cryo-con unit. To do this, we would need to have the sensor cables in the rack. We would also need to know whether the cable shielding would be grounded at the cryostat to avoid a ground loop.

To further debug the "clip" error, I have the following questions:

    1. Is there a wiring diagram that shows how all components will be grounded?
    2. Is there a spare for the cable used to go from the chimney to the Cryo-con unit that could be used for testing? From Torus drawing B00000-09-0178, the cable is a 25 foot L-Com CSM9MM.
If we can get the spare cable, we will be able to determine how to ground its shielding.

Best regards,
Tyler
