Scot,

You raised some concerns this morning that you thought there were missing items.

Has this now been resolved?

Ruben

Hello Wesley,

I checked the changes made and that works for me. I noticed that the PV signal name for PT8675B does not appears anymore (is not used), so we can delete this from the list.

Please take a look before I have Dave review it.

Revised column B (PV Signal Name). Had to use MAXSET instead of MAX_SET to meet the 16-char limitation.

BQ_BEGIN

Hello Ruben,

Dave generated the original names for this PV signal names list.
I generated this proposal spreadsheet to do some of this that PV's were less than 16 characters, in order to follow and keep the same logic in PLC programs. (D.Box-Torus-Solenoid)
I sent it to the mailing distribution list for everyone to understand and agreed with this.

Nick,

Thanks for the clarification.

Pablo,

I guess this is what happens when emails get sent out to everyone - even those not directly connected with the details of the programming.
Please bear this in mind when using the group email distribution list that you created.

Regards

Ruben

Hi All,

It seems that there is confusion regarding the list that Pablo has sent out. This information is internal to the PLC and only needed when a controls operator will change a PV (IE. type in a new variable for a control on EPICs).

It allows lookup tables to work correctly when applying a process variable from one PLC to a control(valve, heater, etc) on another. While a large majority of the PV's are real devices (pressure transducers, temperatures, etc) several are generated within the PLC based off of multiple devices and/or algorithms.

The reason the initial names did not work was because the infrastructure was built using the same algorithms in the Torus and DBX, which only allowed the name to have 16 characters. As the DBX and Torus were already fully functioning and commissioned I asked Pablo to work with Dave to lower the character count so that he can use the existing logic.

This is also why we must have different names for the solenoid PV's. We are currently working on the operations manual which will describe this process in more detail, it should be available before the start of the fall run.

Best Regards,

Nick

Hello Dave,

I generated a table (see attached) with the proposed PV names, for all of those who exceed the 16 characters.
Please check and let me know if you want to change these or use a different names, and also if you requires any other PV signal in that list, so that I can add.

Best Regards
Pablo Campero
