Dear Probir,
thanks for carefully taking care of our magnets! I agree with Stepan: we shall have a smooth and safe start next week.
Finger crossed to get the beam in schedule!
Thanks again
Marco

Hello Probir,
Technically I understand that “it is safe" to leave the magnet unattended at 250 A, but unexpected things can happen. But the main point here should be the need to have them ON. I did not hear a good motivation to do so. By next Tuesday/Wednesday we will know more about the machine schedule, but even optimistically, if we start on Monday 8 am, as it is on the white board now, we will not need that magnets until late afternoon.
Another point I want to make is about taking cosmic date, straight tracks, is this arrangement with the magnets at 250 A was discussed and agreed upon with everyone. People (central tracker for example) may want to run cosmic calibrations over the long down time before the start of the run.
Regards, Stepan

Dear Stepan,
The magnet is at 250A, as mentioned if the magnet trips because of any reason not going tp cause any heating or cryo-event.
We intend to run the magnets as soon as we come back from holidays and avoid the magnet sweep and to restrict people working around the magnet (if this is not adm. controlled that we have seen and experienced in the past).
But again it is your choice...hence asked to confirm.
Please let me know. Then we can plan every thing upon our return because we have already run both magnets to field last month to ensure magnet performance for the Fall run.
Regards
Probir

Hello Probir,
I have an issue with leaving magnets ON over thanksgiving breaks with no one in the counting room and the hall in “Restricted access”. What is the purpose of leaving them ON over that period.
Thanks, Stepan

Dear Denny and Team
As discussed this morning, HallB is scheduled to get the beam on Dec2nd 2019.
Denny on Vacation till 2nd Dec and Dave and Bob will also be away from Lab.
In order to run the magnets to full field on Dec 2nd, the following is suggested-
1. HOT check out (magnets) - Eugene P (sign off) Wednesday Morning/afternoon (27th Nov 2019)
2. Magnet Sweep - Probir G and others (if available)
3. Run both magnets to full field and back down to 250 A and park over the Thanksgiving time. This will not impact any other system, members needs to be aware off the magnets at field and no work is allowed within the boundary.
Please let me know if you have concerns, else we go ahead with this as our schedule going ahead.
Please find the attached Fall 2019 run rota list for your ready reference.
All information regarding the checks carried out earlier last month is saved at the following location-
