When <br>you log on to this machine, USB ports are located on the left side of the monitor, you will find <br>several folders on the desktop that should make it fairly easy to find documentation. One will take you <br>to the Hall-B engineering folder located on the M:drive, and another that is titled on-call training.<br>In the later of the two you will find folders labeled with system names that contain manuals and other <br>pertinent documentation. A good portion of that documentation still needs to be updated and added to the <br>folder and that is an ongoing effort. I have also completed a document, that several of you have asked for,<br>titled "On-call Alarm quick look". I have attached that to this e-mail for your review and feedback. It is <br>a color coded (legend is in the header of each page) list of every alarm signal that could be sent to the <br>On-call phone. The alarm signals are high lighted yellow and they have been copied from the alarm handler,<br>so they should be exactly what you will see on the phone. Description text are highlighted in either light<br>blue or green. The blue indicates a signal with no alarm currently set and the green indicates active <br>alarm settings. Please review this when you can and e-mail me some feedback.<br><br>Magnet group members.<br><br>Hi Guys, <br><br> Although I would greatly appreciate your feedback, I actually Cc'd you guys because I came up with <br>a couple of things I thought we should discuss or discuss again which ever the case may be.<br><br>First, I know we have had the alarm time delay discussion already but we have had a couple of occasions since <br>that brought the subject back to mind. Currently the majority of the alarm signals have a 5 second delay<br>but a 10 minute delay before paging. This works ok when the counting house is staffed. Shift workers acknowledge<br>the alarm, which stops the system from sending a page, and then they make the calls. We have on a couple of <br>occasions now had a time that shifts were canceled. In those cases a 10 minute time delay of alarm signals <br>can prove painful. I don't pretend to know the best approach to this so I come to you guys for your thoughts.<br><br>Second, I have spent a little time with Nathan on this one and I think it would be beneficial for us to implement<br>something when we can. Some of the pop up menus on the alarms include a "guidance" tag at the top. Shift personnel<br>use this when they receive an alarm. That may be something very beneficial when it comes to things like resetting <br>Cryo con trips and such. I know from talking to Nathan that this one would be time consuming and labor intensive<br>but in my mind well worth it.
