This morning we added (2) Channels to our PLC sequence of events diagnostic, these are not part of the fast dump chain.

To accomplish this we ran (2) sets of shielded cables from controls rack L2-8 down to the solenoid MPS chassis. The first cable is terminated at the main contactor normally closed contact (Pins:X2-7 green, X2-8 Black). The second cable is terminated at the dump contactor Normally Open contact(2-5Red, 2-6 Black). The main contactor loop uses 24VDC supplied from L2-8 and acts upon SOE relay ch5, due to the NC we had to invert the coil control such that all PLC channels are same. When looking at the SOE chain now during normal operations this relay LED will be OFF. The dump contactor loop is also supplied with 24VDC from L2-8 and it acts upon SOE relay ch15.

Both cables are tagged internally at the MPS chassis and a there is also an external tag taped to the respective chassis door indicating the same. We performed an abreviated interlock checkout on the hardwire relays. All checked out OK(after having to adjust water lead flow switches again), QD1&QD2 was not performed by usual method of injecting voltage but pulling the cable verified that contactor opened.

As the ON/OFF contactor is now tied to the SOE we need to be sure reset the PLC interlocks after turning on the MPS, this will clear the timestamp on this channel.

These extra diagnostic channels should allow us to better determine if the problems are originating internal to the MPS or from our external controls.
