For safety reasons of course. Pressure regulators with CGA 350
connections are also used for H2 gas cylinders at 2,000-3,000 psi.
They are also used for the 10% C4H10 in argon premix. It's not
unsafe to install a pressure regulator that has been modified with a
lower pressure gauge on the premix bottle, but that would be a very
different story if it was connected to a 2400 psi cyl of H2. That
would create the potential for serious accident, injury, and
paperwork. Unintended consequences.

It could be nearly empty, but it is also just as likely to be
that the pressure is to low for the gauge.

Generally those are spec'd to a few percent but only in the
range of 25-75% of the scale, since we already start way below
that there's no way to really tell exactly what the pressure
in the bottle is. Not to mention the first tick mark is 200
psi, which isn't much below what the bottle is filled to.

Hopefully this will be improved when the 600 psi gauges that
Matt approved are installed, which is currently in procurement
with a buyer assigned.

For the time being you guys can monitor the low pressure side
for changes, when it can't maintain 15psi is when the bottle
is almost empty.

Is your Argon sniffer still at JLAB or did that go back to
Saclay?
which is odd : we only use 7l/h, a new bottle should last 5-7
days. Maybe there is a leak somewhere before or gas rack (we
check input vs output flow).
