Hi Pablo,
James and we looked centered the target location phi and then leveled the target top flange. Survey group sent up the equipment for surveying the target cell and we will meet at 12:15pm to start the survey. Joining us right before the beginning of survey will help, I think.
Thanks,
Xiangdong

Hello Xiangdong,
Yes, I will be able to help with the survey data implementation.
Just let me know the time and I will be there.
-Pablo

Hi Pablo,
The survey group may be able to survey the target cell tomorrow if they finish surveying the vessel early. We might need you to help us implement the 2016 survey data. Surveying the vessel will start at 8 AM, and James and I will be there.
Thanks,
Xiangdong

Hello,
Yes, we tested all four home switches, they were configured as input #1 in the motor controller which is shown in LabVIEW as a the first input status true bit indicator when they are closed (meaning that motors on home position).
Input #2 for phi motor is shown in LabVIEW as the second true bit indicator when limit switch located at the end of the travel range is reached.
Input #2 for y, x ,and z motors showed in LabVIEW as second bit indicator are shown as true when we are not in the home position, this bit is not associated with the limit switch since we know that there's no actual hardware limit switch installed for them. Only phi motor has home and limit switch installed and monitored.
Overall all worked with no issues after the fixing for phi motor. Also, It was determined that with the current setup we must keep in mind that if the power is lost we need to reinitialize, refresh and home all motors before operate them. Later limit switches for x, y and z motors can be installed for safe operations. For now, the only way to prevent them to go out of the maximum travel range is by using the software limits with the Jog movement mode.
Have a good weekend,
Pablo

Nice. Did you all test the home switch to see if it doubles as a limit? -James

Hi James,
We found the problem after checking the hardware several different ways. Bottomline, the one of the 3-pin connector (the red wire for "home switch") on the phi switch leads had a loose contact, which resulted the "always open" state. After the connect was cut off, and the same color wires were twisted together (see the pictures below), the phi home switch behaved as it supposed to be. Now the target is ready to be fiducialized.
I will find a 3-pin connector and install it on Monday.
Pablo can probably add more details.
Thanks,
Xiangdong
P.S. I don't have the permission to check the shared file.

Hi all,
Apologies for having to take off. Here's the link with the 2016 position values and conversions (steps to encoder value to travel and rotation) for the PRad target.

Pablo, did you get the input for the Home SW configured, if not are you working on it this weekend or Monday? Let me know what your plans are.
