Hello,
This morning the PRad instrumentation rack was moved to its final position next to the target.
After that Mindy and I started with the turbo pumps patch box installation.
We will continue on Monday morning.
Regards,
Pablo

HI Pablo,
The vessel leak-check is a little bit harder than I thought—pumping through the large turbopumps on the seemed very inefficient. Both James and Chris suggested that we should continue to install the target pumping system (without the target core) so all pumps can be powered so we can use the pump exhaust to do leak-check.
Tomorrow morning we will do a few things IN PARALLEL:
1.
Discount the equipment rack and move it (and the pc) to the final location so we can connect all pumps (without hydrogen vent line).
2.
Connect LCW (water) to all pumps.
3.
Modify the current leak-check configuration (short path the large turbos) for test a different idea for ~1 hour, which may help to speed up the leak checking.
4.
...
I'll let you know after we have the rack in-place. I'll be in the hall-b all day so you know where to find me.
Thanks,
Xiangdong

Hello Xiangdong,
Thanks for the updates.
Hopefully we will be able to connect the pumps and test the instrumentation by the end of this week or early next week, please keep us informed.
just a heads up, I have a doctor's appointment Friday afternoon.
Regards,
Pablo

Hi Pablo,
The survey work is done, but the leak check is still ongoing. Steve of Hall-B will reconfigure the pumping path for more accurate checking tomorrow. We might be able to wrap it up by the end of day. If we see no surprise, the target top insertion will happen on Thursday. We can then lift up the rack and connect the pumps after that.
Thanks,
Xiangdong

Hello Xiangdong,
How was the survey and leak test?
Any updates on moving the PRad to the beam position? So we can proceed with the instrumentation connection and communication testing?
Regards,
Pablo
