They will need to support approximately 1500Kg of total load. However, there are several configurations for lifting the detector, so they may use as few as 3. The fab shop needs them to pick a size for the hoist ring mounts, and I would rather overrate (bigger hoist ring) using something Hall B has plenty of than just taking the approximate load weight and dividing. I'll swing by the hall today and see whats on hand.

Thanks,

Marc McMullen
Physics Division
Detector Support Group
7738

From: "Denny Insley" <dinsley@jlab.org>
To: "Marc McMullen" <mcmullen@jlab.org>
Sent: Monday, March 20, 2017 7:24:04 AM
Subject: Re: [Dsg-rich] Eye bolts

Good morning Marc,

How the Heck are ya! They will need 4 to send to the fab shop for load testing in mid June. Do you have something they could use? If so could you give me the part number so they can adjust the design to the manufacturers dimensions for the hoist rings.

Thanks,

Marc McMullen
Physics Division
Detector Support Group
7738

From: "Dario Orecchini" <dario.orecchini@gmail.com>
To: "George Jacobs" <jacobsg@jlab.org>, "Marc McMullen" <mcmullen@jlab.org>, "Tomassini Sandro" <sandro.tomassini@lnf.infn.it>
Sent: Friday, March 17, 2017 2:41:33 PM
Subject: Re: [Dsg-rich] Eye bolts

George,
you are right and I ask you an help regarding to manage Kg vs Pounds.

We have to test the tool at 1500 Kg and so we suppose that 3/4" with a rating of 500 Kg each are OK.
We need at least n.3 of them but to avoid "surprise" our tool can be hang also on four points and so it would be
better to have the availability of 4 swivel eyebolt.
Bob Miller said us that this kind of swivel eyebolt are available but must be checked the needed dimension.

Thanks for the help
Dario

On 17 March 2017 at 19:18, George Jacobs < jacobsg@jlab.org > wrote:

I have some questions on this.

How many hoist rings do you really need for this fixture?
