              <br>
              After calling Newport to ask for recommendations on what
              can be done to fix the monochromator, they recommended to
              check whether the diffraction grating had turned too far,
              going past its home location causing an error condition.<br>
              <br>
              Page 6 of the attached pdf describes the procedure they
              gave to recover from the error condition.<br>
              <br>
              With the monochromator powered off, Luca and I manually
              turned the diffraction grating using the drive gear. We
              then powered on the monochromator and it was able to
              verify its home position and be operated as normal.<br>
              <br>
              The monochromator is now working again and can be used as
              before for reflectivity tests.<br>
              <br>
