[dsg-hallb_rtpc] RTPC crates

I would propose the following: For the duration of the upgrade, we should reduce the gas flow to the RTPC to a minimal 30 sccm, HV off, and of course FEUs and their cooling fans safely powered off. It would be important that someone (Jiwan) can be there to restart everything (at the least those blowers) after the upgrade. So I would suggest Brian coordinates with Jiwan and get this done soon.

Let me know when everything is sorted, again because I've never upgraded this piece of equipment this might all be for nothing and power stays on the entire time, but better safe than sorry.

If the fan needs to be on all the time, it can be plugged to the wall outlet.

I can safely turn off FEUs voltages and FEU fans used for the RTPC and FMT.
There is another fan used to suction out the Helium leaked out of RTPC. As long as the RTPC is outside the solenoid, I think there is no issue to turn off that fan. But when the RTPC is inside the solenoid, either Bob or Sebastian could answer what can we do.

I've never done the firmware on this piece of equipment so honestly I have no idea.

Hello Brian,
How long does it take to have firmware update? Can you please give me an estimate? I am at hall so that I could power off everything safely.
Thank you,
Jiwan

Yes, the CVT insertion cart.
Previously it housed only SVT stuff: https://www.jlab.org/div_dept/physics_division/dsg/album/HALL%20B%20SVT/Installation%20for%20noise%20test%20in%20Hall%20B/SVT%20electronics%20rack%20structure%20relocated%20in%20Hall%20B.jpg

It has since been modified (top half removed) and now houses MVT stuff as well, I guess that's when it got renamed.
Let me know once everything has been put into a safe state.

Sorry for the cross chatter - when you say “SVT cart”, do you mean the CVT insertion cart? As Jiwan points out, there are FEU LV and cooling fan supplies, among other things, on the latter. We may have to power down the FEUs safely.

Hi Mohammad,
Is the RPTC using anything on the SVT cart that requires AC power?
The remote power strip has a vulnerability that requires a firmware upgrade to fix and I'm not sure if applying this will cause any power loss.
So obviously we'd want to do this when nothing is being actively used.
Thanks
Brian
