Hi Sebastian,

Please find attached P&I diagram along with the components list
for Series configuration. The list is also valid for the Parallel
configuration, so there are options if needed.
According to the markings on the deck, the magnetic field extends
out slightly beyond the cart. Not sure if any part of it is free of
the magnetic field. Maybe the field is low enough all the way
outboard at floor level? This may require longer and larger ID gas
lines.

Cheers,

Dear George et al.,
unfortunately I’ll be on travel for the next week or so, so I won’t be able to contribute much in the immediate future. I am intrigued by your statement about the pressure drop - this of course must be based on some assumption about what kind of gas line we use (inner diameter?) and how far the two devices (DMS and RTPC) are separated. I agree that 3 psi is a bit much, although in its present design, the DMS will be sturdy enough to withstand 3 psi overpressure, I think. In any case, we want it to be as close as possible to the actual RTPC, so perhaps 2-4 m away depending on where there is space on the electronics cart (and no magnetic stray fields).

Hi Sebastian,
I have sketched up what we spoke of at the meeting, DMS in series with the RTPC, and have attached the P&I diagram to this email.
This version will only work if the DMS can hold significant pressure. I estimate 2-3 psi for the gas to flow from the DMS through the RTPC due to the gas line length between the 2 components.
I believe the only way the series configuration would work is if the DMS and RTPC are in tandem.
