Just to clarify: The overpressure in all 3 volumes - He4 buffer, DMS, and RTPC detector - should be no more than a fraction of a Torr - or less than 1” water column - above atmospheric pressure, which is much less than 1 psi gauge. Since these gases are not
flammable or hazardous, we don’t plan to have a max. pressure test of these volumes - we will certainly run them extensively with SLIGHT overpressures. All three volumes will be protected against too much overpressure by bubblers. I believe that this is much
simpler, more sensitive and failsafe than an engineered solution (check valve, “overpressure device”).
