The kit is in a cardboard box on the back table in room 125 of the EEL (the RTPC area). The kit has all the materials needed to extend your RTD cables (4 wire RTD cable spool, multiple heat shrink sizes, solder, a soldering Iron, and a heat gun). In accordance with current conditions you may wish to wipe all the material, tools down before use. Here are the assembly instructions:</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt; line-height: 15.693333625793457px; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;" class=""><o:p class=""> </o:p></p><ol style="margin-bottom: 0in;" class=""><li class="">Disconnect the RTDs from the RTPC cRIO by unplugging the disconnect cables at the RTPC end of the cable assembly.</li><li class="">Cut both RTD wires on the RTPC side of the disconnect cable. Leave at least 1 to 1.5’ of length on the disconnect side.</li><li class="">Cut the jumper length from the spool as needed.</li><li class="">Slide 2 pieces of the large heat shrink over the jacket of the New Jumper Section. The heat shrink should be long enough to cover the stripped back sections and solder joints + 0.5”. You will need 2 sets of these, since there are 2 cables.</li><li class="">Strip back ~ 0.75” of the jacket of all cut cable ends to expose the 4 individual wires at each cut end.</li><li class="">Add a short section (long enough to fully cover the solder joint and a little bit of jacket) of the smaller heat shrink to each of the individual conductors.</li><li class="">Strip back a tiny section (< 0.25”) of all individual conductors (16 ct. per cable assembly) and solder per the provided diagram.</li><ol style="margin-bottom: 0in;" class=""><li class=""><b class=""></b><b class="">Connect like colors (red to red, black to black)</b></li></ol><li class="">After soldering all individual wires together as appropriate, slide the small heat shrink over the solder joint.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><b class="">DO NOT HEAT THE HEAT SHRINK AT THIS TIME</b>.</li><li class="">Reconnect the disconnect connectors and check the temperature indicators on the RTPC Gas Display screen to ensure the cable is connected properly. Could you please help us to extend the RTD cables out from CVT cart? The cables are not long enough and also have no connectors to extend. It is also hard to access RTDs after re-cabling.
