Hi Steve,
It's not clear to me what additional procedure you'd like to have other than what Pablo included in his initial email.
Unfortunately there isn't going to be anyway to to test this on the stand-alone PLC as it doesn't communicate with any of the other PLCs via ControlNet.
No matter what the SHMS PLC will need to go offline to change the module out, that part is unavoidable.
Also, I don't know if we can call whatever test we do successful until after the PLC is run during beam-on conditions. Since I think everyone is assuming it is radiation related that is causing the problems?
