Hi,
Sounds Good.
I would like to look over the setup and test. Lets shoot for 1:30pm today in ted 1544.
Did the PLC down time include time to re-schedule the PLC on networxs?
Steven

Hello Steve and Mike,
>From DSG's point of view the pre-test requested has been completed.
For the test three chassis were configured as follow:
Chassis #1: (Master chassis which has the controller Stand Alone PLC)
Chassis #2 : Slave 1; configured with Controlnet module for interface communication and I/O modules
Chassis #3: Slave 2; configured initially with a Controlnet module (to then be swapped by a Ethernet module) and I/O modules.
Two PLC ACD. files (PLC programs) have been created and used for this test. The first PLC program has the all Controlnet configurations between Master and Slaves chassis and is simulating the actual configuration in the SHMS PLC systems; the second PLC program contains the combined network configurations with Slave 1 chassis using a Controlnet module, Slave 2 with Ethernet module, this chassis #3 is simulating the changes that needs to be implemented.
The results of the test showed that Ethernet module work without any problem when it was used to replace the Controlnet module.
The system is able to run with a combined network configuration (Ethernet and Controlnet modules) with no problems. The down period (PLC off line) measured in the test for the PLC was less than 1 min, this is the time needed to download the new version of the PLC program which includes the implementation of the Ethernet module the SHMS PLC I/O chassis. So based in this test, we can follow the previous procedure mentioned (6 steps) and after downloading of the new version of the PLC program to the SHMS PLC shouldn't be any error.
If you want to check the test running, please let us know and we can go over it today and be done with this check to allow Mike continue with his test in the Standalone PLC test station.
Best Regards,
Pablo

Subject: [Dsg-hallc_controls] Ethernet vs Controlnet test
Hello,
To test the performance of the Ethernet vs Controlnet for the SHMS PLC systems, Amanda, Tyler and I have done the following:
1. Set up standalone PLC to mimic how the SHMS PLC system is set up with the controller and I/O modules in different chassis.
2. Added DSG-PLC chassis to the standalone PLC system using initially Controlnet network for a total of three chassis (1 controller chassis, and 2 I/O chassis)
3. Began development of PLC program to very test system works
Next week DSG plans to swap the Controlnet module with Ethernet module to verify that Standalone PLC can run with one I/O chassis using an Ethernet module and a second I/O chassis using a Controlnet module.
Best Regards,
Pablo
