dear gianni,
thanks for your prompt reply.
i appreciate it very much.

with regards to the pins, i'll ask aaron/brian/marc to come up with the number of incidences.
i'm confident that the problem can be solved easily.

sincerely
amrit

Dear Amrit,

thank you for your email, I apologize I was not aware about the dsg mailing list (dsg-hallc_controls at jlab.org<mailto:dsg-hallc_controls at jlab.org>).
I full agree with you the pushed pins issue will be surely addressed by CAEN, we are considering to do a maintenance intervention at JLAB in the next future.
What I would like to know to have a clear idea of the situation is
How many boards with pushed pin/s you have?
How many pins per board?
If I well understood ( but may be I'm wrong) there are 4 boards with this issue, that is one pin pushed back, and every time is one of the two safety pin loop.

Could you or some one of the group confirm me these numbers?

Or in case I'm wrong could you provide me a report updated to today?

Best regards.

Gianni

hello,
this issue of pushed pins needs to be addressed by CAEN.
dsg is not in this business.
also, i am very disappointed that i'm receiving the gianni's e-mail only today now.
i urge all of you, for the sake of transparency, particularly from the caen side to use the mailing list, like we do here at jlab.
amrit
if anyone in the dsg group receives a "singular" e-mail make sure you broadcast it to the mailing list.

In regards to Brad's previous email about the potting material here's one of the emails CAEN sent.

Still waiting on more feedback since we've definitely seen it on the board side multiple times.

Begin forwarded message:

Dear Brian,

please could you tell me if the pins pushed out are present only on the RADIALL connector installed on the boards (female) or even on the RADIALL connectors installed on the cables ( male).
>From my experience usually in the past the problem appeared only on cable side, this is the reason that we decided to add the hot glue, in order to strengthen the tightness of the pin and prevent a possible escape from the correct position, but this as said only for the cable connector.
The problem on the panel connector is very rare, how many problematic boards you have with pins pushed out?
Could you send me some pictures?

Best regards.
Gianni
