Hi Xiangdong,
Amanda will be requesting a meeting with you so we can discuss the test
results.
We have a few initial comments regarding the test status report.
1) We're glad the noise results look promising (slides # 3-7). We have
some questions regarding the measurements that we can talk about in the
meeting.
2) Regarding the the Fast Resonance scanner program mentioned on slide
#8, DSG did not know about the existence or need for this program before
our meeting on Nov 8th. DSG is now working on the update of this program.
3) On slide #9, the issue of synchronized field value logging is
mentioned. The addition of synchronized field value logging was not
requested as part of DSG's original HDice task list. To add this new
feature, a triggering source will be required. Triggering can come from
any hardware source that can accurately synchronize the lock-in amp and
field data acquisitions.
HDice requested in the original task list that a high accuracy current
shunt be found and integrated into the NMR program. The purchase of the
CT-Box was approved by HDice and it has been integrated into the NMR
program. However, that does not mitigate the need for synchronized
field value logging which is a new task.
DSG has been investigating with CAENels the possibility of adding a
hardware triggering output to the CT-box. If this can be implemented, it
can be used to trigger the lock-in amplifier satisfying the hardware
need to synchronize the acquisitions. However, extensive changes to the
NMR program will needed to implement synchronization. This NMR
programming effort has not started.
4) The program issues with the field scan mentioned on slides #10 - 11
is most likely due to the lack of acquisition synchronization which is
inherent in the original NMR program before DSG worked on it.
5) The timing issue shown on slide #12 is due to the requirement in the
NMR program that T(down) must equal T(up) and that T(bott) must equal
1. This was inherent in the original NMR program before DSG worked on
it. The program modification to allow variable values for T(down),
T(up). and T(bott) was not requested.
DSG will be happy to work on these additional tasks. We can talk about
this work during the meeting Amanda will be requesting.
Regards,
Peter

Hi Amanda,
The attached pdf file is a status report of testing the newly built
HDice NMR rack. It took a few more days than I said because I wanted to
make sure that the information were correct. Thanks for being patient.
Best regards,
Xiangdong
