Hi Amanda, 

In order to avoid the delay on replacing the broken rf generator, Rohde & Schwarz located a loaner unit for us to use until the new one shows up (Please see the forwarded email below for details). When it shows up, could you find time helping me to install it on the Rack 1? Since we are using the SMA100A on the Rack 2 now, it might be as easy as plug & play.

I am hoping that a temporary loaner SMA100A might work for you and your software group. 
Our demo equipment group has approved loaning Jefferson Lab a SMA100A Serial Number 103430 until your new purchased SMB100A comes in. 

The SMA100A loaner can be shipped to you immediately to arrive within a few days if you can confirm the exact mailing address to make sure it finds its way to you within Jefferson Lab. 



The SMA100A loaner unit has these hardware –Bxxx options installed SMA-B103L, SMA-B22, SMA-B29 as described below. 
And if certain software options are needed, I should be able to get 30 day no cost evaluations enabled for you by Key Code.

Thank you for look into this case. No, it's not for replacing SMA 100A on the left side rack, but for the really old SMY01 on the right side rack. (I have 2 NMR Racks side by side but only one functional signal generator (SMA100A) at this moment. I rushed to order the new unit in September just to replace the dead SMY01. 


The loaner option sounds good. Please let me check with our software people to see when they can migrate the software and get back to you.

Hi Xiangdong, 
I am looking into this for you within R&S & TestEquity. 

Is it correct that the SMB100A sign gen you ordered is actually to replace the older SMA100A that you showed me last week, which has stopped working? 

If that is correct I see within our used equipment group (which tries to sell former customer demonstration equipment) has a few of the older SMA100A’s they are trying to sell. 
…..so I am wondering if perhaps they could loan one to me (and to you) to use, while you wait for your SMB100A to be delivered. 

If I could arrange something like that, would this help?

Thank you very much for meeting me in my lab last week. 





This morning I just learned that the delivery date for my new RF generator will be delayed for 7 weeks (The original delivery date was 10/31 when ordered, but now is 12/-3!). Rohde & Schwarz didn't give the TestEquity.com any explanation for the delay for order# 3500096691 (PO 301752). Could you do anything to speed up the process? As I mentioned to you last week, we are waiting for the RF generator to replace a broken one so we can finish the experiment on time.
