Let's leave the FRS program alone, and make the modified program "Frequency Swept NMR" (fsNMR).

Thanks,

Xiangdong

Subject: [dsg-hdice] Modifying the HDice Fast Resonance Scan program

Hi Peter,

A few months ago, I mentioned in a meeting that I was thinking about modifying the FRS program as a back-up for monitoring the target polarization for the UITF experiments. Now we need to realized the plan, since I still have issues with the Zurich Lock-in Amplifier.

The idea for the modifications is the following:

Stage 1: (in a week or two)

  1. Make the FRS program capable for averaging of multiple scans with N as a settable parameter.
  2. Save the averaged data as well as the individual. (The average will be recalled as the background signal.)

This will allow me to determine the NMR signal with comparing the ON resonance and OFF resonance signals, taken with different magnet field settings.

Stage 2: (expanding stage 1)

      1. Add the background recall function.
      2. Normalize new signal to background signal.
      3. Subtract the new data with background.
      4. Display the results as data acquired.

Please give me an estimate on how long it would take to develop each part. We can meet if you need to talk to me. I went to your office yesterday afternoon.

Thanks,

Xiangdong
