Hi Tyler,
The 8 bullets in your message pretty much covered everything we talked yesterday.
I assume that we still save X, Y, freq., R and Theta at stage 2. Right?
Thanks,
Xiangdong

Hi Xiangdong,
Just to review and distribute what we talked about yesterday for the new "Frequency Swept NMR" ("fsNMR") program, below is a description of the two stages of the program you requested.
Stage 1 program
* To current FRS program, add ability to run multiple scans
* Record and plot X and Y from lock-in amplifier in addition to frequency, R, and theta.
* Average data from each cycle.
* Plot average in background of live data plot after each cycle (how NMR program plots data)
Stage 2 program
* Add ability to read in previous averaging files as background data
* Add temperature data logging to fsNMR
* normalize new data to background data (new data divided by background data, multiply by peak amplitude of background data)
* save new data's average with background data subtracted.
We'll start with Stage 1 and go from there. If there's any of the above that is incorrect, please let us know.
Best regards,
Tyler

Hi Peter,
Yes, I'd like to meet. Let's about it tomorrow at 2pm in your office.
Thanks,
Xiangdong

Hi Xiangdong,
Can you meet with us tomorrow (3/12) for the regularly scheduled DSG-HDice meeting @ 2 PM in the EEL R121C?
We can discuss the details of the fsNMR request and make a preliminary plan.
Regards,
Peter

Let's leave the FRS program alone, and make the modified program "Frequency Swept NMR" (fsNMR).
Thanks,
Xiangdong

Subject: [dsg-hdice] Modifying the HDice Fast Resonance Scan program
Hi Peter,
A few months ago, I mentioned in a meeting that I was thinking about modifying the FRS program as a back-up for monitoring the target polarization for the UITF experiments. Now we need to realized the plan, since I still have issues with the Zurich Lock-in Amplifier.
The idea for the modifications is the following:
Stage 1: (in a week or two)
1. Make the FRS program capable for averaging of multiple scans with N as a settable parameter.
2. Save the averaged data as well as the individual. (The average will be recalled as the background signal.)
This will allow me to determine the NMR signal with comparing the ON resonance and OFF resonance signals, taken with different magnet field settings.
Stage 2: (expanding stage 1)
1. Add the background recall function.
2. Normalize new signal to background signal.
3. Subtract the new data with background.
4. Display the results as data acquired.
Please give me an estimate on how long it would take to develop each part. We can meet if you need to talk to me. I went to your office yesterday afternoon.
Thanks,
Xiangdong
